Jacob's Band

    An old bluesman once said “You got to be what you is if you fat and ugly you fat and ugly but you got to be what you is” and Nick knows what he is, a bluesman. Moving back and forth between southern rock and blues Nick always found himself back at the blues. Growing up in a house drenched in Delta Blues music Nick became very interested in the sound of the Delta and having a national tricone resonator guitar lying around the house was just too much to ignore.  Robert Johnson the complete recordings became his obsession. At fourteen he started playing bottleneck on his national at local bars and Barbeques as “Mississippi Nic.”. After four years of playing electric lead guitar with “Uncle Don’s band”, a group of much older musicians. Nick has honed his skills at all styles of blues and has become an accomplished musician. Early in 2010 Nick had the good fortune of running into two incredible young blues musicians,  up until then it was play with the older guys or don’t play blues. Jacob Schulz is just an amazing blues singer and probably the best frontman to come along in a very long time.  Keeping the blues alive and showing young people what the blues is really about is where Nicks at. Likes Nick says
